Wanda and Pete

Does anyone out there know how I can contact Wanda & Pete to give them an update on the HH I recently found in one of my letterboxes? I did alot of online searching for an email address or a direct link but had no success whatsoever.

Here's the link to the page where the hitchhikers are tracked:

http://alum.wpi.edu/~p_miner/travelers.html

I like checking this page to see the routes of some of the HHs I have
found in the past.

The email address shown on this page is:

wandaandpete at yahoo.com

Hope this helps!

Here are a few handy methods for finding members of this Talk List.On
the left side of this page, there's a listing for "Links." If you go
there you can find the URL for the Miner's HH page. You can also find
them in the "Members" section. Another method would be to put
"wandandpete" into the search box at the bottom of this page. Then,
you can find one of their messages and reply to it. Funhog

Just a quick word of note, I don't think Wanda and Pete have a
computer at their disposal right now, especially for long enough to
update the hitchhiker list. If you send them a note right now, they
may not get to it until after the holidays.

Just be patient :-)

They added this to their website:

>This is a historical list of hitchhikers travels from before Dec 1,
>2005. More recent travels are now available on LbNA: Letterboxing
>North America" and on Atlas Quest .

I assume that means they are no longer doing updates at all.

Hey, I don't want to give up any hints on potential Christmas presents
or anything!... ;-)

It will sometimes take them some time to update the page.

To the person way down there with the goal of finding a box Wanda and
Pete havent found:

I second that goal! They are everywhere! :) Me and a fellow
letterboxer think it would be amazing to actually stumble upon them on
the trail. They are like the phantom letterboxers, they always beat
you to the chase.

Anyway, good luck on beating Wanda and Pete and Congratulations to
Wanda and Pete on basically conquering all of New England in terms of
letterboxing!

Hmmm, come to Michigan... you won't find Pete and Wanda's stamp in any of the boxes here, not yet anyway...

Or if you REALLY want to be sure, travel to the opposite part of the country and see us here in Southern California. I haven't seen them in any of our boxes out here.

BTW: Congrats to W & P on the 10K mark!

That is because you haven't made the 3 hour drive to Kernville!

Pete and Wanda cruised through here just before the White Water
Gathering.
There are some that they did miss however.

I was thinking of putting one of my special stamps out along the Knobstone
Trail in Indiana and calling it a Gift for Wanda. But is that too obvious
a ploy to have her come and box here?

~speedsquare

BTW - it's a really cool stamp.

We did not find that Wanda and Pete had visited any of the boxes we
found in New Zealand. But we have found them everywhere we have
boxed in the US: all along the eastern coast, and in Arizona and New
Mexico. A couple of years ago, we sought out a box in Ft. Myers, FL
and discovered Wanda and Pete had stamped in to that box three days
before! And in Virginia, we had fun finding a box (placed for the
Northern VA Mystery Gathering) called, "Where's Wanda," which had as
its stamp a nicely carved image of the lady herself.

My favorite experience of finding a box that they had NOT visited
was in New Hampshire. About halfway into the logbook, the placer
stamped in when doing maintenance on the box. At the bottom of the
page was a P.S.:

"Pete and Wanda,where ARE you???"

We did run into Pete on the trail in Mansfield, CT a couple of years
ago. But we have not had the pleasure of meeting Wanda yet,
something we look for to!
